I've been reading tons of articles about how unsafe it is to use chemical cleaners, and I've decided to slowly make the switch to natural/Eco-friendly cleaners. All the items in this post are cost effective, along with chemical free! Did you know many common household disinfectants contain something called ‘phenol’ or
carbolic acid? The acid can attack the central nervous system, liver,
spleen, kidneys, and pancreas. Also, artificial air fresheners are another culprit. Many of them contain
nerve deadening agents, which interfere with your sense of smell. (those are just some of the dangers of using chemical cleaners!)

faucets to hubcaps.

Carpet Stain Lifter
Mix one cup each of vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Spray the stain
until wet. Use a brush to scrub the mixture into the stain. Let sit for 5-10
minutes. Then, Gently wipe/blot the stain with water and
soap-moistened cloth. Repeat if necessary.

Lipstick Stain Remover
If the
fabric is machine washable, saturate the spot with hair spray, let it
sit
for 10 minutes, then dab with a damp cloth or
sponge to remove. Machine afterwards to remove any remaining residual.

Basement Deodorizer
To freshen the air in a dank basement. Cut an
onion in half, place it on a plate, and leave it out overnight. Once the onion aroma dissipates, you'll have a fresh atmosphere.

Glassware Scrubber
To get baked-on foods off a glass pan or an oven
rack, use dishwashing liquid and a ball of tin foil. It will do the same thing as an s.o.s pad.

Clean A Cast Iron Skillet
Toss about 1/2 cup coarse salt into the
pan and rub with a soft sponge. The salt removes excess oils and takes
off the food bits.

Window Washer
Newspapers deposit less lint than paper towels do and doesn't leave streaks. Just spray on a glass cleaner and wipe.

Windows & Mirrors
Mix 2 tablespoons of white
vinegar with a gallon of water, and dispense into a used spray bottle.
Squirt on, then scrub with newspaper (not paper towels, it will cause
streaking.) Substitutes for vinegar are, lemon juice and club soda.

Grease Stain Remover
Just use chalk! Simply rub onto greasy stains and the chalk powder will absorb the
grease, making the stain easily removable by the laundry soap in the
wash.

Scum Buster
Remove soap buildup from glass shower doors by sprinkling a few drops of water onto a used fabric-softener sheet. Then scrub as usual.

Microwave Cleaner
Heat a bowl of water and vinegar for 5 minutes. The steam will dissolve stuck on stains. Then, simply wipe off.

Dishwasher Cleaner
Clean lime deposits and iron stains inside the
dishwasher by pouring a packet of lemonade Kool-Aid (the only flavor
that works)
into the detergent cup and running the (empty)
dishwasher. The citric acid in the mix wipes out stains.
